Computer hardware software may seem like an oxymoron but they are two different components of desktop computers and notebooks that come together to work in sync. You cannot operate your computer without using both pieces. It is similar to a vehicle; you have the vehicle and you have the set of keys that operates the vehicle. Even your power source is a vital asset that makes the machine run. The term "software" can be attributed to John W. Turkey in 1958, though there were earlier essays and theories dating back to the 1930s.

Here is how the computer hardware software combination works together. You have the hardware components in your computer. You have the software that makes the hardware run. The software is loaded into the hardware. It is that simple once you understand the difference and know how both work separately but together to make the computer run correctly.
